Motha's Day, 2013

For mother's day I wanted a family adventure and a good meal (and a few gifts, if I'm being honest).  On Saturday we went to Cloudland Canyon for waterfalls and dinner.  We had low expectations of what our experience would be.  We were running late, ran into major traffic, and got caught in a rain storm.  Adventure to the max.  John joked that it was going to be like the Grand Canyon scene from National Lampoons Vacation.

Once the downpour transitioned to a drizzle we were back out for playing and photo ops.  The misty valley was gorgeous, but the kids didn't notice.  They were all about the puddles.

We let them run wild for a couple of minutes until we changed their clothes and went to my favorite restaurant.

The kids received many compliments on how well they behaved in the restaurant.  It was less about their behavior and more about the buttered rolls and pellet ice that they feasted on.

On the way home, we stopped on the side of the road for a sweet picture in a pasture.

The best part about that time was seeing what everyone else did on Facebook.  Two of my friends were there as well, and several friends got to do things outside.  I love that I live in a community that values and enjoys what this great city has to offer.  Adventures all 'round!
