Canvas Market Tote

How poignant is this picture? I just love it.

One of my most used possessions is this canvas tote that I have had for a few years now. Mainly, it corrals all my reusable shopping bags in my car, but I am often dumping them out so I can put my tote to use. Besides getting groceries, I use this thing on so many of my outdoor adventures with the kids. This summer it was my pool bag/picnic basket/camera bag all in one. (Not a great combination, but it worked.)

It's official name is Market Tote, which makes me think it should be filled with fresh produce from the farmers' market, local bundle of flowers, and a big baguette sticking out of it, of course. But this tote is so much more. It's the best picnic basket, and I would like to give one away to one of you this week.

Whether it's filled with a wonderful assortment of diverse salads/colorful fruit and cheese plates/sparkling juice or a bunch of happy meals and some oreos, this thing is awesome on picnics. In honor of The Great Outdoors and the perfect picnic weather, I'm giving away this black one (USA only).

To enter to win, please leave a comment of your favorite picnic location. Keep it real too: from a vineyard in Tuscany to pizza on the floor in front of the TV, where do you like to picnic?

I'll pick a winner sometime on Saturday and post it then.

  1. Little Caesar's Hot 'n Ready Pep on the rocks in our front yard. And if we are really feeling fancy we'll have crazy bread too. So how do you fit a pizza in a market tote? Don't let that question deter you from picking me. ;)

  2. My son and I picnic'd at the chickamauga dam one day. It was cold but so much fun! The water had receeded and we were the only people there. We had a blast looking for shells. Definitely my fave picnic spot. :)

  4. I'm pretty sure Tuscany would rank right up there though I haven't had the chance to try it. I do like just taking lunch out in the yard: feels exciting and there are no crumbs to sweep!

  5. Grilling out on the farm with my sons, daughter, best son-in-law, and the grand children. Nature is part of everything. Connecting with animal which provides me a calm I wish I could describe and I see it's affect on all. The open space with all it's borders edged with nature ever changing beauty. Watching the grand kids look on their faces as the fish pops out of the water. The best part of all is watching all the expressions of love and having the deep sense of family. To me this is the best of life. This is one of the reason we take the time and effort to go on a picnic.

  6. I LOVE picnics! Now, I must say they have been fewer since my kiddos have gotten older and busier. Fall Picnics are my Favorite! I like it Little chilly out and lots of leaves under foot! We loved finding close little spots in and around our neighborhood. I would load up our wagon with quilts and a basket of yummy sandwiches and other stuff and off we would go. The " Triangle" in our previous Belvoir Neighborhood was our favorite! One of favorite spots now is driving up to Racoon Mnt! That Market Basket would be a great companion!

  7. We took our to ours on our RoadTrip up to Boston. Favorite place: Rocky beach in Bar Harbor. Picnic Picnic: what ever we had left in our camper that wasn't stale and Vino, of course!
Those also make great Shower baskets when you go camping. It totes clothes, shampoo, tooth brushes and the tote can get a little wet.

  8. I know its not fancy, but we love taking a picnic to our back yard. Noah can crawl around exploring the grass and trees and dirt. Our dogs chase after him. Most od the time something happens that has us all laughing hesterically. We simply enjoy the fresh air and some homegrown foods. The best part of the picnic is the company!

  11. I am lucky enough to live in the Pacific NW and there are so many pretty places to picnic around here. I think my favorite place though is Owen Beach on Point Defiance in Tacoma. I took my 3 kids there one summer to escape the 100 degree heat and fell in love with this place. There is a trail that follows the waterline and if you go far enough, no one else is around. You can watch the ferries go back and forth and sometimes, if you are lucky, you can watch the seals play in the water. The beach is just right for wading and there are lots of trees for shade. Thanks for the giveaway, for your sweet blog, and for making me remember many fun times with my kiddos.

  13. We love to picnic at our land, where we're building our house. It's fun to pretend that we live there already. Being in an apartment for several months has really made me claustrophobic and we enjoy our time outside even more! How about a house warming gift?

  14. Sam and I love to grab lunch and head up on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville. We are planning on going up this Sunday after church since it's peak leaf season up here right now. I got one of those baskets for a wedding present but living at camp our first year of marriage made it moldy and I had to throw it away.
