Blue Mason Jar Christmas

Is getting creative with free tree trimmings and blue mason jars considered a craft?  I think yes.

It all started when I cancelled my annual cookie exchange.  Even though I've loved doing it in the past, this year, I decided to let it go.  John and I wanted to focus on throwing a big huge Christmas party instead, and that's what we did.

Intent on making my own invitations to save money, I was surprised as anyone when I bought these cute things.  Each one less than the price of a stamp?  Yes please!  I toyed around with the wording and colors.  The combination: all those blues and aquas paired with lime green.  Right then and there, my inspiration was born.

I pulled my usual grab-all-those-free-trimmings when we bought our Christmas tree this year.  I think I literally yelled (while holding Fern), "John can you get me a cart?  I'm getting a ton this year!"

I got my inspiration for this little table scape from my friend's wedding.  Blue mason jars? We're obsessed much. Even though they seem to have a summer feel, I'm making them work this Christmas.  With tree trimmings and tree stumps, it's pretty much the craftiest that I've been this year.

If I get my act together enough, then I might just have a full out house tour on Monday.  This is my no purchase, keep it real, real cheap Christmas!
